Mikulik Lawn & Landscape's Owner and History
Owner, John Mikulik, started landscaping as a teenager during the 90s working for his father’s company in Vernon, NJ. After graduating from Vernon High School he went to college, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Earth Science and Education from Kean University plus a certificate in landscape design and business from Morris County College, years later. John and his family have lived most of their lives in Sussex County and his children attend the Vernon Township School District. John has been in the landscaping industry for over 20 years working both part time in his early years and then full time.
He has and continues to attend landscaping classes and programs at Rutgers University, maintains pesticide licenses in both New Jersey and New York, and is a member of the New Jersey Landscape Contractors Association. These programs help him and his team keep up to date on the best landscaping and maintenance techniques. Mikulik Lawn and Landscape has grown from being an owner/operator lawn maintenance business to a team of 2 maintenance crews, 2 landscape install crews, a pesticide tech, and an office manager. We have enough help and equipment to complete larger jobs and commercial maintenance, but are also small enough to be personable and complete small one time projects. We are a local small business, not a franchise, we live in the community, and care about the area and our customers.
